I saw a planet right next to the Moon today. Sorry for the abstract photography but this was the best I could do with my phone. Seconds later it was gone. No second shot.

News says it was Venus but I think it was a less bright one.

It must have ducked behind the moon or was upstaged by the moon. Brightness may be relative to the brightness of the moon. Be glad that you were able to capture it at all and thanks for sharing it with us.
