So, the big question here is: do I remove the Apple Watch before going to the bathroom or not?

Cats, good books, AI, and religious walking in the city of Sofia
So, the big question here is: do I remove the Apple Watch before going to the bathroom or not?

I had a walk today and according to some of the photos, the sky was actually visible. It felt sad and gloomy.
This is from my neighborhood, I want to go to that place and just paint over. However, there’s a school nearby, so it’s a lost cause.

Essentially me.

Moskva means Moscow in Bulgarian. The owners didn’t dare to remove these socialist signs. This was once a cinema. However, when I first went to a cinema in the mid-80s, I think it had already closed. There used to be another cinema on the opposite side of the street, which functioned until the early 90s, and was fine. It’s now a supermarket.
Overall, had a nice walk of almost 15K steps. Couldn’t capture any optimistic photos but I think these are pretty in their own way.
Sharing your goals on a public blog adds extra pressure to actually complete them. Thankfully, most of my friends and family don’t know I blog, so the embarrassment is not too big. I set some goals last year, and now is the moment to look back and see how well I did.
- ✅ I’ll try to climb Vihren (2 failed attempts in 2024) – success
- ✅ I’ll try to keep an average of 10k/day for 2025 as well but increase the difficulty by doing more hiking and less city – success for the steps and mostly for the hiking as well
- 🚩 I’ll try to add 1h/week of gym time, starting with body weight exercises like push-ups and plank. – failure
Honestly, the Vihren goal was too optimistic and we stopped doing hiking after it. I don’t know what happened with the gym idea. I did a grand total of under 1 hour of exercise. I don’t have an explanation, it was never part of my todo, had zero interest in spending time on it, and just dreaded the idea that I’m going to do that. But, reality is, that I need to find a way to do it.
So, for 2026, let’s try again:
Wish me luck.
I managed to get out of bed earlier this morning. I took a few magical photos while the smog was still fresh.

This is the church, the tourist magnet of Sofia. It shines.

A hidden garden behind Tzum. The building on the left was the shopping mall of the communism period. You couldn’t do much shopping in there before 1989 but it was a good walking destination. You could watch things that you’d never buy.

Very different protests, mostly against the Pig and the Pumpkin, but also the Euro. The migration to the Euro is glitching right now. I hope it goes well.
I walked to the Book Fair today (well, skipped a few bus stops, but mostly walked). I was under the impression that I’d taken some pretty cool photos on the way there. After all, I crossed the city center. This is what I actually found later in my camera roll.
Three photos in total.
A colorful building on Lyuben Karavelov street. I twist my neck every time I pass by because the people who restored it painted outside ACs. I don’t know why but I find it cool.

Sticker graffiti with USA’94 near the Romanian embassy. It’s ironic because I ordered a gamebook called USA’94 a few days ago. After seeing the photo, I googled the book to see if there’s any resemblance – none. Whoever does these stickers is unrelated to the gamebook community.

And a Twingo 1. Renault is about to revive the Twingo 1 car (1993-2007) as Twingo E-Tech. The concept car has eyelashes by design. I owned a similar car when I was younger. It’s great for parking.

This particular unit is the facelift version from around 2001-2006.
