Sofia is very flowery these days

The wet and long spring resulted in an explosion of roses everywhere. Sofia is a bit jungle-like, most green areas do not have central maintenance or it is minimal, part of the anti-tick controls. What we end up having is grass, usually green but sometimes yellow, and some shrubs, except where a local takes care of an area and it looks nice and maintained. But this year the roses shine well beyond anything I remember seeing.

Roses and a linden branch.

It’s beautiful season here.

Roses

This is the best season in Sofia. Warm without being too hot, sunny with some rain. Long days. Flowers.

And a new cat showed up in the yard. Or at least I don’t remember seeing her before.

Back to Bulgaria

I’m back home, where the cats are fluffy, the grass is sometimes green, the snow is melting, and the flowers don’t need watering yet.

I spent a week in Tenerife with my colleagues from the MarTech team. Tenerife is a beautiful place, the nature is operating with very different colors, and the brightness is crazy.

Violet and Pink

I knew about violets and lilacs before this blog but I had no idea there are so many other trees that bloom in these colors.

Empress Tree (saw two different today), Chinese Wisteria (one but with two photos), Lilac, and a very well groomed stray who visited my parents to complain about her scratched nose. No help with the nose but she got some ham.
