King’s Garden

This tiny patch of the King’s Garden used to be the famous and beautiful Writer’s Coffee, a central spot for the intellectuals of Sofia until the 70s.

It was destroyed likely to create a photo spot with the church behind, however the true reasoning is not known to the Internet.

Orchid

A year ago, we found an orchid in the mountain. I was surprised that wild orchids exist in my country. We saw plenty this weekend from another species.

I have my doubts about the exact species. The first photo clearly shows dots on the leaves, so according to the image search, it should be the Broad-leaved Marsh Orchid. However, given that we are not in Germany, it’s more likely that we saw Dactylorhiza cordigera or Сърцевиден дланокоренник instead.

I wish I took better photos.

Bath

During my childhood, houses didn’t have bathrooms, hot water, or sometimes any water. So we showered at public bath houses. Then, the capitalism came, brought hot water and took away the public bath houses one by one, replaced them with banks, hotels, and museums. The one we used the most is in the process of renovation right now to become a medical center.

Except some baths here and there that survived. According to the Internet, despite the abysmal conditions, the one below still works, and is kept like that due to a series of absurds.
