Positive Emotions

Daily writing prompt
What positive emotion do you feel most often?

My most common positive emotion these days is the sense of accomplishment when completing a todo item. Walking outdoors, blogging, and reading books are related to that feeling. I count my steps and the number of books I read. I keep a blogging streak and enjoy every comment.

Also, cat videos. Here’s a cat for you. No video of her because she was busy not doing anything.

Emergency Preparedness

Daily writing prompt
Create an emergency preparedness plan.

I only see a point in preparing for small, family-level emergencies. The big stuff I’d leave to the government. We stocked up some toilet paper and Fusilli during the early days of COVID-19. That didn’t work well.

My lifestyle includes playing football and doing weekly hikes. This means injuries, bites, and weather risk.

  • Bites and stings by insects can be quite risky when they get infected, and I feel like anything that’s not a mosquito bite gets infected. We keep a good supply of cremes, patches, and bandages for people of all sizes – from Paw Patrol-themed to large and cheap for fallen fathers.
  • I now have a backpack that has a reusable water bottle, a windbreaker jacket, and a scarf that can cover the entire face. This makes me prepared for things going slightly south with the weather during hikes.

Why scarf? The idea is that a sudden change in weather can come with strong winds, making it impossible to walk if the face is not fully covered. People lose most of their heat from the head. Keep the face warm and comfortable, and the sudden snow might not be as bad.

TL;DR – my emergency preparedness plan includes large amounts of treatments for wounds, a scarf, and a credit card.

If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

Daily writing prompt
If you were going to open up a shop, what would you sell?

Something like Starbucks. Expensive drinks, some snacks, and outlets for people to charge their devices. Convenient for remote workers to hang out for hours.

I even looked into it about a decade ago, but the investment needed was absurd. It’s more like a comfortable fantasy than a business plan.

This blog will change the world

Daily writing prompt
What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

I love this writing prompt!

Blogs can change the world. I see influential folks in Bulgaria do great things with their blogs. However, my site focuses on my journeys, discoveries, learnings, and experiences, it doesn’t aim to change the world. There are some evolving personal goals that I’m pursuing, and I’m using the daily posting as motivation:

  • Trying to average 10K steps/day (I’m not far but under)
  • Trying to use my non-work-related screen time for reading books, blogging, reading blogs, and engaging with communities
  • Trying to not use my personal time for news, doom scrolling, and anxiety-related experiences
  • Trying to learn more about writing, psychology, AI, math

Using the blog I can achieve things like:

  • Inspire a few more people to religiously walk and use their cars for country trips only
  • Inspire more people to read books
  • Inspire more people to pursue a life of being kind and empathetic to others
  • Criticize the usage of AI to divert web traffic into apps that steal human content

Would it work that way? Sure, just give it time 😉 Once I get to, let’s say, 1000 subscribers, I’ll post a status update 🌎

What are you curious about?

Daily writing prompt
What are you curious about?

Work excluded, the answer is Rockets and Math.

I recently rediscovered my interest in math and occasionally watch long math videos on YouTube. I’m subscribed to Mathologer, but I let myself be tempted by other YouTubers. The social networks noticed and started trying to challenge me with high school level tasks.

I would also watch some rocket launches live. The next on my list is the chopstick attempt – Starship 5.
