
This wild flower can be purchased as a garden plant in Sofia. We found it at around 2000 meters altitude. It’s called something like stone-loving Arabis in Bulgarian. There were lots of rocks around it.

This wild flower can be purchased as a garden plant in Sofia. We found it at around 2000 meters altitude. It’s called something like stone-loving Arabis in Bulgarian. There were lots of rocks around it.

I was lucky to have the first successful hike for the year. We did two in the winter but the weather was windy and unpleasant and we got nowhere. There’s still some snow here and there, just enough to enter your shoes. The weather was very warm – t-shirt, sun screen, and winter boots type of weather.


I’m thankful I was able to do this. 15k steps, roughly 3h.


Wasn’t sure which photo would be better for the blog today, I loved them both.
I consider printing a 500-piece puzzle with the first one, I feel it would be challenging.

This is the same flower featured a few days ago, surrounded by blue blossoms. All the blue blossoms are hiding from the fresh snow, if this can be called snow.
