I’ve been blogging every day for two years straight. I never imagined this blog would grow to become such an important part of my daily life. Thank you all for stopping by and supporting me by clicking the like button, posting comments, or just reading. It means a lot to me.
I just wish the celebratory notification said 2 years instead of 730 days.
I blogged about it earlier but I managed to get the iOS apps to 100% translated in Bulgarian. The translation is finally out with the new version of Jetpack iOS. It’s not perfect. Bulgarian uses lots of gendered words and I made a few mistakes, mostly using the incorrect gender. Also, some strings are simply missing. A few words here and there appear in English, despite the app being 100% translated. They are probably hardcoded as English in the app or come from an API call. I noticed the Activity log being like that and the names of the editor blocks.
Overall, I think people who only speak Bulgarian will have very little trouble with the new version. We’ll only have to figure out if the block names in the editor should be translated as well and fix a few gendered words.
In a brief moment of insanity, I went over the strings for WordPress Mobile iOS and translated most of them. They are getting more and more difficult as the translation percentage approaches 100%. No surprise there that the people maintaining the Canadian language were unable to translate the final 2% 😜.
I may be able to get that number to 98 as well but 100 looks out of reach. Some strings in the app mean absolutely nothing to me and even the translations to other languages make no sense. I’ll post an update once the next Jetpack Mobile appears with these translations. Really curious to see if I got it sufficiently right to make the UI feel Bulgarian. Bulgarian has lots of gendered words, transliterated terminology, plurals where one expects singulars and so on.

I just got the new update of the app and I was actually excited about the update. I can now modify the font size for reading. It only applies to the post detail screen in the reader but it’s a good start for people like me who wear glasses and struggle with tiny letters, often switching to something else after reading a page.
The post tags feature is also getting better. This is how I find new sites to follow. It’s relatively inconvenient to browse by “new” and see a mountain of posts but it works better for discovery to me than the Discover feature where all the established blogs are.
