Cats, good books, AI, and religious walking in the city of Sofia
Lorna Shore is one of my most favorite currently active bands and probably the only one I’d still love to watch in person. Their songs are technical and extreme in a way that makes you hit repeat. The vocal performance is the obvious most insane part but I think all of the musicians are like that in their own way.
I found a video today about Lorna Shore’s drummer. Watching him play is like watching David Blaine doing street magic.
The following video is best consumed with headphones.
This is like a concert by baby Metallica and baby Iron Maiden. Shadow of Intent are less known but still a great Deathcore band. I’ve encountered some of the other groups on the tour but not super familiar with them. They also make sounds that don’t sound like voices and have very fast drums.
Lorna Shore has a new song called Oblivion. You get vocal acrobatics, incredible drums, and overall a great sound track for the post-apocalyptic book I’m reading.
Some songs just click.
I first experienced that in high school, when a classmate gave me his walkman and let me listen to Master of Puppets. It happened many times after. Styles varied but I would instantly know when I hear something and it clicks.
The song below relates to Metallica the way Rage Against the Machine relates to pop music but it does have a little bit of both. If all of that made you a bit curious, headphones on, lower the volume, and press play. It can be too much even if you’re no stranger to metal.
