Last week I somehow saved a post instead of publishing it and my 4-month blogging streak ended. A couple of days later, I published the missing post with a date from the past, and the blogging streak resumed a day later. This sounds more like a bug than a feature but it worked for me.
I would say, it’s a feature than a bug. Hey it helps me stay motivated to keep my Streak and get back to it π . It has happened in the past, mostly due to TZ changes on flights. I appreciate that our devs aren’t so strict about the Streaks. Just an FYI, it works the same way on DayOne too π

There’s definitely a bug element into it because it doesn’t immediately resume the streak. It resumes on the next day. Apart from that, yeah, I think this is how it should work, but then, you can create a 100-year streak with a bit of effort π

Oh yeah, that way it’s a bug. It works instantaneously on DayOne though. Well technically one can try a 100 day streak, but it will flood subscribers with emails of such backfills. So it might not be the best of options to try it. I wish I can back fill a few double digit days worth of posts without flooding ;). My streak count would switch to a four digit number. I won’t!

Not sure what you mean by a blogging streak. Is it simply inspiration? Or is it something else?

The system has a counter for the number of consecutive days with a blog post and congratulates you. It just says “You’ve posted 135 days in a row on Veselin.blog! Keep up the good work.”
Sounds dumb to be inspired by something like that but what can I say.

Thanks Veselin. It’s an interesting approach.

I did that too with a post that supposedly ended a shorter streak. After tomorrow though, it’s pretty clear my streak will end no matter what. I’m so empty coming up with topics now, that only weekly challenges remain. It’s so sad! But what can you do? I have to focus on the internship and not the blog

Good luck with the internship, that’s clearly more important. I post flowers. Plenty of book reviews in the queue but they take much more time.

That’s great! I love the photos of the flowers and I’m glad you read so many books.

Posting book reviews is very selfish because I do it entirely for myself. I don’t think anyone reads them π€·ββοΈ

π, you never know. I can personally say I’m not that interested in those, because I’m not a book worm. It’s a reason why I did not feel like writing more book reviews myself. the readers love it though π.

Strangely, nothing on here is selfish. You never know who might read and get inspired.
