Asenovets is a famous building in the city center of Sofia. Two similarly designed large residential buildings sit on the two sides of Ivan Asen II street, the area with our co-working space. I go past this building almost daily. The area is nice.

The police took out 48 dogs from an apartment in this historic building yesterday. I’m speechless. An apartment in such a place can be a pricy AirBNB that’s never empty, and someone hoarded dogs inside, and somehow managed to lock in 48 of them until the authorities stopped it and took the dogs and the owner away.
I hope the dogs find better accommodation and the neighbors – some peace and quiet.
That sickens me.

That’s sad and terrible, those poor dogs!
On another note, I have to say I really enjoy seeing your part of the world!

Wow, 48 dogs?
I was in Sofia during October 2023. I still need to publish my travelogue on your lovely city, so stay tuned.

Sofia is far from lovely but it is a city.

Of course.
Well, it’s funny because we always say that about the place where we’re from, I know I do also… 😉

That’s such a beautiful building. How did the individual get away with so many dogs locked in 🤔.

I’ve walked past it 100s of times and never heard the dogs or smelled the smell. Perhaps they were relatively quiet, although noise complaints were the reason for breaking their dog hoarding party.

I think we all need some pointers from that owner 🤣. Glad to know they’re rescued and hopefully they all find good homes where they can run about .
