


It’s hard for me to spot the difference between crows and ravens. I think about ravens as black crows. These were likely crows because they were too small for ravens but at the same time, I spotted an unkindness of ravens just a few kilometers away so who knows.
These two found walnuts.
Our ravens up here are huge! We call them Thompson turkeys lol (our city is Thompson).

Our crows have grey tummies, and these were entirely black. But yes, they don’t look big enough for ravens. Our ravens aren’t huge but still, should be larger than crows.

Probably crows of some variant. The tail feathers and the grey around their beaks as it approaches their face seem to point away from ravens. Corvid family certainly.
It would have been interesting/fun to watch them get the meat out of the walnuts.

Didn’t know a group of ravens was called an unkindness, but sure enough it is! These are truly the black sheep of the avian family!
