I was lucky to have the first successful hike for the year. We did two in the winter but the weather was windy and unpleasant and we got nowhere. There’s still some snow here and there, just enough to enter your shoes. The weather was very warm – t-shirt, sun screen, and winter boots type of weather.
I’m thankful I was able to do this. 15k steps, roughly 3h.
The mountain was unwelcoming today for a second time in a row. We did a brief walk on the horizontal path for about 1.5h. The wind tried to blow us away, and the snow was just enough to make our hats wet. Our new 5-euro sunglasses from Decathlon that cover the side of the eye protected us from the wind very well but it was still unusually cold. The type of weather that makes you want to get out of the mountain as quickly as possible.
The happiest moment of the trip was when we boarded bus 66 and the hike was over 🙂
Our hike was very emotional, with hail, mist, and strong winds. Lasted about 1.5h. We started somewhere in the mist, ended somewhere in the mist, and we reached some white middle point.
Pull-ups are great, you against your weight. Each cookie and chocolate bar you ever ate pulls you down. Your will pulls you up. Who will win? However, I lost my ability to do pull-ups about a year ago and it is not on my list of things to do next year. Which leaves us with hiking.
Hiking is like walking but you’re somewhere far from computers, wifi, work, city life, cars, and many of the stress factors. You against a hill. Or against your thoughts. Much better.
Just a cool photo from before I became a car brain. Not sure why Photos decided to show that to me. The shadow in the mist is Glozhene Monastery.
This was likely from my old blog, maybe 15 to 20 years ago. I can’t reach Malyovitza these days but whatever I can reach, I do in a similar fashion. Jeans, LOL. So inappropriate. Some things never change.
