We have this jay that seems to love attacking windows, cats, and probably people each spring. To my knowledge, this is because they get aggressive when young jays hatch. Although it’s too soon for the little jays to be born, we had some window-smashing today and I expect that to last for at least another month, until the end of May.

After two years of enduring spring-time harassment by an overexcited jay, probably protecting a nest somewhere, I finally saw what a baby jay looks like.

Jay knocked on the window a few times to show me that the cherry tree outside is ready for snacks.
The crazy jay that harassed our window last spring is annoying the yard cats. Momma cat came to the rescue a bit later.
He still tries to defeat the window but not as fiercely.
