Both pets have good sides and can make a home a better place. However, after having a cat for over 17 years, I don’t think I would have another any time soon. The final 1-2 years were tough.
The photo above is not my cat. She’s just cute and looks like a tiger.
Wow! 17 years? Our two cats are twelve years old this month. They were 6 weeks old when we adopted them. We keep them indoors now. I don’t think we could bear anything happening to them.

I hope your cats live long and happy lives. Cats aren’t good at telling that something is wrong with them.

True. Rico had to have a tooth extracted by the vet last week, bless him. We have no idea how long he silently suffered before he started to yelp a little and run to the bedroom while trying to eat.

I had Meep, a large black cat, for nineteen years. It’s unlikely I’ll have another car. When Fremont, an unexpected addition to our family, passes … he’ll have been the last pet.

With cats, the decision is not entirely yours. Cats can adopt you instead, particularly little ones.

I’m a dog person with a cat 😂. I like both, but I can’t wait until I hopefully have a dog again, and this time – a Great Dane!

Did you mention you plan to buy a house or a hangar for airplanes?

Eh…? I’m too tired to know what you’re talking about. Airplanes? House, yes, but airplanes? 😵💫🥴

Just that the Great Dane, if I remember the breed correctly, is a humongous dog. Tried to joke about the size of the dog 🙂
But I guess a regular house will be sufficient, if the door is tall enough.

😂 I figured. The house that I’d like to buy would be plenty enough. Great Danes are like chihuahuas in doors. They take up very little space. They most often sleep or lie on the couch.

Dogs, always! My husband actually prefers cats, and I do love them, but unfortunately I’m super allergic. My brother has several cats as his wife is heavily involved in local cat rescue back in Dallas, so my visits to their house typically are pretty short; otherwise, I stop breathing. 🤣
My senior dog is almost 17 years old now! He’s blind, deaf, has dementia, and occasional seizures (mostly in sunlight, oddly enough), but he still loves his food and on occasion will trot around the house barking his head off as I prepare his meal — he’s so excited to eat!

17-year-old dog! That’s like 150 human years 🙂 Your senior dog is a hero.

You must have taken good care of them since they got to make it to 17 years…

She had access to infinite cat food and a bunch of good sun spots. But the vet was not the best, I think.

It’s so tough when they go, but think of all the joy you shared!

Yes but I don’t see myself having another cat any time soon. I need to forget first.

I love both of them, but in my home there is a Kingdom of Little BIG CATS… so, in all my life I lived with Cats and we couldn’t bring them together, I mean Dog and Cat… I do admire who have both of them. Yes, I am a cat and dog lover… Thank you, Love, nia
