
Erica carnea, also known as Winter Heath, is already in bloom days after the snow melted. Bees were flying around. Feels like it’s time for the sun to show up and for the spring to come.

We also have the next generation of cats already growing up and refusing to pose for a photo.
I would call that winter heather, rather than heath. The flowers are pretty and welcome either way. Although I think in the UK at least they fell slightly out of fashion after being slightly overused in the evergreen rockeries of the 1970s.
Yes, we have fads and fashions in garden planting.

Oh nice. It’s definitely not a popular plant around here but we have an expensive and delicious cupcake shop nearby that puts effort in keeping the surroundings cozy.
I thought the flower was a subspecies of Thymus and was surprised to find out it wasn’t.
