I wrote earlier about the nearby road next to the highway that had started sinking due to the new subway construction. The holes have since been filled with a mix of concrete and dirt.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. I expected them to dig deeper and address the root cause. I still worry that the whole area might sink further. But if there’s no underground water involved and it’s just the subway, the patches may eventually settle and hold.
I find your lack of faith disturbing

Doesn’t look good! As you wrote – Need to dig deeper!

Well, maybe if the tunnel digging machine is past that point, all they need to do is to fill the hole.

There were serious plans during the Soviet era to build a metro in Riga in the 1980s. However, the project faced strong local opposition, especially around concerns about preserving historic buildings and the impact on the environment. After Latvia regained independence in 1991, the metro plans were officially scrapped.

They use the same type of construction cones in Auckland too 😀

Do they stick branches in the cones for better visibility?

I will click a pic of some cones tomorrow and share it on this post.

I give you the Bulgarian-Romanian border before Schengen. Now that we are part of Schengen, this wall got demolished.

As I was walking I saw a sign there
And on the sign it said no trespassing
But on the other side it didn’t say nothing
That side was made for you and me

I think it’s scary since you don’t know whether or not it will work.

Now the only bit missing is the duct tape, haha, joke aside, I totally agree with you here. Fingers crossed it will set and it will hold..

Hopefully, the area won’t sink further.

Well, this was our alternative route to get on the boulevard. The main one got closed for the subway station construction. I will be a bit more uncomfortable, circling around on small streets.

Looking into the root cause would be a good idea.
