We returned to the ski zone Malyovitsa last weekend with the hope to go a bit further up the mountain than before. The stars didn’t align to achieve that but we still had a nice and fruitful hike.
The fruit:

BTW, if you decide to visit the area of Malyovitsa, Hotel Malyovitsa is much better than Hotel Alpinist. Both are similarly renovated and priced but Alpinist was destined to be a hut, not a hotel.
The rocky mountain looks beautiful.

Is that near Rila Lakes? We did that hike a couple of years ago. It’s beautiful, but I couldn’t believe how busy it was. Maggie

It’s in the same mountain. The Seven Rila Lakes are internationally famous, which makes them an area that’s not desired for me. Otherwise, the mountain has 180 lakes. The 7 in particular became internationally famous because of the lift, and all the organized groups with tourists go there. Also, the universal white brotherhood religion gathers there in the summer months and campя around the lake. They practice a ritual there.

As a local, I would personally not visit the 7 lakes in the summer. Probably fine in the other seasons, last time I visited it, must’ve been May, and the crowds were fine.

Interesting, I haven’t heard of the brotherhood. We went on our own, and enjoyed it, but were surprised at the number of people.

It’s people dressed in white, celebrating the nature, dancing, and believing stuff, primarily around the biggest lake of the 7 (out of 180)
