Took a photo of this ad because I found it curious that a country without any space science has a space engineering program at the Sofia University (partnering with two others). Looked dubious on a first glance. However, after visiting the website, I got the realization that it’s possibly legit. Sufficiently legit to offer it for a very annual fee, to build a good looking website, and to look for candidates with a billboard.
Some things that happen these days are difficult to explain but I’m sure an explanation for this phenomena exists.

It’s coming. Probably faster than we think. I was at Cape Canaveral a few weeks ago, marveling at the ocean liners standing like high rises in a city that thought it would disappear after NASA shut down the shuttle program. My thought was, soon this port will be offering other expensive trips; trips to places no one’s ever seen with their naked eyes.

I doubt these future space engineers are going to be employed in the civil sector.

Interesting. European space race? False degree? A little bit of both?
I’m pretty convinced that tourism and privatization eventually win out because of the dollars involved and because that’s the direction it’s taken here. Also I’m a proponent of globalism.
Military use is something different entirely, although I feel the two do overlap. I hope for the former rather than the latter.
