Sofia has lots of gambling ads. What recently made an impression on me is that 100% of the men advertising gambling are somewhat recognizable humans. 100% of the women advertising gambling look AI.

Flying coins, flying red things, oddly shaped arms, airbrushed flawless faces with exaggerated features. AI.

From left to right:
- Marian Valev – actor, famous with his role in the successful Bulgarian TV show Undercover
- Fiki Storaro – pop-folk singer
- Dimitar Berbatov – the second or third most popular orb-kicker in the history of the country, depending on how far back in time we want to go
They all look real — shadows under the eyes, gray hair, wrinkles.
Is it a coincidence? I took most of these photos weeks ago and have been looking for an exception ever since. I haven’t found one.
Very interesting! I was recently at an event for local church leaders and politicians where I’m 99% sure that one of the pastors who led in prayer had used AI (and not even particularly high-quality AI) to compose the prayers beforehand…it’s definitely invading all sectors of society.

Reminds me of Robert Sheckley’s short story “The Battle”. If the prayer was written by AI, who goes to heaven, the preacher, or the AI?

I haven’t read that one. I’ll have to find it!
At a conference I was at earlier this year one of my favorite speakers (John Piper) actually addressed the difference between human worship and a ChatGPT generated prayer:

Totally noticed the same! The men look real, the women look like video game characters 😅 Everything is so airbrushed it loses all soul… Doesn’t feel like a coincidence 🤖💋

One thought, many men think of women as objects which the opposite of how men are portrayed. It may not be that way where you live but in America is clear to see. I’m not a radical womens rights advocate but you see it everywhere here, television/streaming is the worst. I see more women half dressed or barely dressed but they don’t show a man dressed where his goods are hanging out. Just a thought.
