I’m not a big fan of books with short stories. Too much context switching. Context switching is hard. Makes you stop reading the book. Not all short stories are good. Some are bad. Bad stories make you want to throw away the book.
Safe Enough is no exception. But it’s Lee Childs. The good stories are good enough.

4.5/5
PS. Lee Child is known for his short sentences and simple vocabulary. Tried to replicate it in the post.
Ha ha! You did get his style of clipped sentences… and I know what you mean… a long story allows things to unfurl… short stories, back to back, can give you whiplash. He is a good writer though… so it is tempting… and time is short so perhaps the stories I read should be too! Great post, Linda 🙂

Do you have others like him?
In the Thriller genre I only follow Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben, and Lee Child. I read others but with these 3, I’m close to 100% completion rate.

When I was younger it was Thomas Harris… I went through a big Tom Rob Smith stage too… 100% completion is super impressive (I probably came close with Michael Connelly, but not the others… they’re all so prolific!)

I wished my book would have been translated in another language… I love short stories, and my literature love started with “The Last Leaf” by O. Henry. Books are great… Thank you, Love, nia

My grandparents had one book by O’Henry. I’ve read it 10s of times.
